The First outdoor 360°LED Floating display in Asia, located in Singapore Marina Bay was in use in August 2009.
This creative project is for a important event in Singapore. To make it impressive and outstanding, the client wants us to give a solution of a floating structure design. Through chipshow’s technicians and structure engineers’ hard working and delicate design, we convinced the client the workability of such a difficult project. The project was awarded as “One of the Most Creative LED Display Project” and it was considered to be the biggest and the first floating display in Asian Area.

The whole display is over 108sqm, weight about 3600kg, and must be floating in the Marina Bay in a stable stand on the floaters. It requires a high reliability and good performance. Considering the specialties we provide a net steel structure lies one the surface of the floaters, which can separate the weight averagely, and a central-pulling bar on the whole display. Our design solves the problem of how to keep the display in position.

In the pixel pitch selection, client firstly wants a high resolution like 10mm or 12mm. But after the discussion, we know that the viewing distance will be in about 20m away. So finally we give a solution of 20mm pixel pitch, which will save half of the investment but the performance remain almost the same.

Finally, the whole display is completed within 20 days. This is the result of our rich project experience and efficient cooperation ability. It shows chipshow’s unique advantage as a manufacturer and solution provider.
